A Typical FUNCAMPS Day...

A day at FUNCAMPS is anything but typical!
With 30 years of experience our program has been perfected to be a well rounded and a
perfect balance of specialty activities, outdoor fun, swimming (splash & play), field trips,
carnivals, guest entertainers and speakers and more.

Below is a sample of a day at camp, but each week there is always something
new for the campers to get excited about!

9:00 am -9:30am
Arriving campers start their day by getting into their counselor groups, and they find
out what exciting activities they will explore into that day.

9:45 am- 10:30am
1st activity of the day which is related to the specialty program which was picked. For example, first magic trick of the day for Magicamp, learning about and building a Rocket in Space camp, having their first lesson in dance in Star Kidz, learning about and making a model of T-rex in Jurassicamp and, creating slime and finding out what a polymer is in Science Camp.

10:35am- 11:30am
Fun Sports and games before it gets too hot. We make sure weather permitted that our campers get some outside time. At the universities we have use of the great intramural fields at Pinecrest Gardens & Community Center we have the wonderful surroundings of the location with use of the field and park.

11:40am- 12:15pm
Lunch time our campers have worked up an appetite and it is time to eat.

12:20pm- 1:20pm
Swimming or (Splash & Play) campers start to get ready for time to cool off.  At this time the campers start to change for swimming or the spash & play depending on camp location, this is another opportunity for some outside time. For those campers who do not swim, we do have other inside options of games and arts & crafts. This option is usually 2-3 days a week.

1:25pm- 2:10pm
2nd specialty activity of the day examples; Juggling in Magicamp, Planetarium time in Space & Rocket camp, Solar cell making in Science camp, performance lessons in Starkidz, Fossil digging in Jurassicamp.

2:15pm- 2:55pm
Special Show/Event or 3rd specialty activity period like a magician or dance act
or one more specialty related activity.

3:00pm-3:20pm
Campers wrap up their fun day and get their newly received items together.
Depending on the program and day our campers receive specialty related materials like
fossils, gyroscopes, magic tricks, telescopes, decorated top hats.
