A Typical FUNCAMPS Day...

FunCamps Summer 2026

A Typical Day at FunCamps

Every day at FunCamps is packed with excitement, learning and the kind of memories that last a lifetime.

Parents often ask us what a typical day looks like at FunCamps. The honest answer is that no two days are exactly alike. Every day brings something new. But here is a look at the general shape of a FunCamps day so you know what your child is experiencing from the moment they arrive to the moment you pick them up.

9:30am
to
10:30am
Morning Welcome and First Specialty Activity
Campers arrive to the energy and excitement of their FunCamps counselors ready to kick off the day. After a warm welcome and morning gathering the first specialty activity of the day begins. This is where the magic happens. MagiCamp® campers learn their first trick of the day, JurassiCamp campers begin a fossil dig, Science campers launch into an experiment, FunArts campers start a new creative project. Every day starts with the thing your child loves most.
10:35am
to
11:30am
Sports and Outdoor Games
Before the heat of the day sets in campers head outside for sports and games. Our university locations offer spacious intramural fields while Pinecrest features beautiful park areas. Campers run, play and build friendships in a fun and supervised outdoor environment. This active time is an important part of the FunCamps balance.
11:40am
to
12:15pm
Lunch Time
After a busy and active morning campers take a well-earned lunch break. This is a great time for campers to relax, socialize with friends and recharge for the afternoon. Campers bring their own lunch from home. Our counselors supervise lunch in a fun and comfortable setting.
12:20pm
to
1:20pm
Swimming or Splash and Play
Campers cool off with swimming or splash and play activities depending on the location and day. This is one of the highlights of the FunCamps day and a wonderful opportunity for outdoor fun in the Florida sunshine. Swimming and splash activities are offered two to three days per week. For non-swimmers, indoor games and arts and crafts activities are always available.
1:25pm
to
2:10pm
Second Specialty Activity
The afternoon brings another round of specialty program time. Campers pick up where they left off in the morning or dive into a completely new activity within their program. MagiCamp® campers might move from card tricks to juggling. Science campers might go from chemistry experiments to building a solar powered motor. Every afternoon session builds on the morning and keeps the excitement going.
2:15pm
to
2:55pm
Special Show, Guest Entertainer or Third Specialty Activity
This time slot is where FunCamps truly shines. Depending on the day campers enjoy a live performance by a professional guest entertainer, a themed special event, a camp-wide competition or an additional specialty activity. Our guest entertainers are working professionals who inspire and amaze campers with skills and performances they will never forget.
3:00pm
to
3:20pm
Wrap-Up and Pack-Up Time
Campers finish their day by gathering their projects, supplies and newly earned specialty items to take home. This is one of the most exciting moments of the day! Depending on the program campers might pack up real fossils, magic tricks, science experiments, gyroscopes, telescopes, decorated top hats or original artwork. Every day ends with something to show mom and dad.
3:25pm
to
3:50pm
Pick-Up Time
Parents and guardians pick up campers at the end of the day. Our staff is present and supervising right up until every camper is safely in the hands of their family. For families who need extra time, aftercare is available until 5:30pm exclusively at our University of Miami location.

That is a typical FunCamps day on paper. In real life it is louder, funnier, more surprising and more wonderful than any schedule can capture. Ask your child what happened today and prepare to be amazed.
