About the Programs
If my child attends more than one session of the same program will they get different material each time?
Yes! All of our specialty programs have multiple levels which allow returning campers to continue learning new material and receive new supplies each session. A child can attend MagiCamp® every session of the summer and learn brand new magic tricks every single week.
Can my child attend more than one program in the same summer?
Absolutely! Many families choose different programs for different sessions throughout the summer. You can enroll your child in MagiCamp® for Session 1 and JurassiCamp for Session 2 for example. Each program is a standalone weekly experience.
What does my child take home from camp?
This is one of the things that makes FunCamps so special! Campers take home real materials from every session. MagiCamp® campers take home real magic tricks. JurassiCamp campers keep real fossils they discovered. Science campers take home experiments and projects. Every child leaves with something tangible from their week at FunCamps.
Is my child too young to attend FunCamps?
Our programs are designed for children ages 5 to 12 and are fully age appropriate throughout that range. Game Tech Institute and Robotics and AI Camp are designed for ages 8 to 13. With 37 years of experience our counselors are exceptionally skilled at making every age group feel comfortable, challenged and excited.
About Safety and Staff
What is the staff to camper ratio?
Because we understand how important quality supervision is, our ratio is one adult staff member for every 9 children. This allows our counselors to give meaningful attention to every camper throughout the day.
Who are the counselors?
Our staff is made up entirely of adult counselors and directors. Each one is carefully selected for their enthusiasm, education and professionalism. Our team includes certified educators and teachers along with specialists selected for their specific program expertise and passion for working with children.
Are the counselors screened?
All of our counselors go through a comprehensive background check and complete a thorough training program before working with campers. Your child's safety and wellbeing is our absolute first priority in everything we do.
Is FunCamps accredited?
Yes! FunCamps is the only ACA Accredited day camp in Miami. The American Camp Association accreditation requires passing over 250 standards and inspections covering safety, programming, staff training and facility requirements. It is the gold standard of the summer camp industry and something we are extremely proud of.
About the Camp Day
What does a typical day look like?
Every day at FunCamps is a balance of specialty program time and other camp activities. Campers typically spend two to three hours on their specialty program each day along with outdoor sports and games, lunch, swimming or splash activities and special shows or guest entertainers. How much time do campers spend outdoors?
Each program is designed with a well balanced day. Campers participate in outdoor field activities, sports and water activities to complement their specialty program time. Our university locations offer spacious intramural fields and our Pinecrest location has beautiful park and field areas. During the hottest parts of the day activities move indoors to air-conditioned facilities.
Is aftercare available?
Aftercare is available exclusively at our University of Miami location in Coral Gables. Campers can stay in a supervised and fun environment until 5:30pm for families who need the extra time. An additional fee applies. Contact us at 305-666-2992 for details.
What should my child bring to camp?
Campers should bring a packed lunch, a water bottle, sunscreen and comfortable clothes they can move around in. Depending on the location and day they may also want to bring a bathing suit and towel for swimming or splash activities. You will receive a welcome packet with full details after enrollment.
About Enrollment
How do I enroll my child?
You can enroll online through our secure registration system. Simply click Enroll Now, select your location, choose your program and session dates and complete the registration. If you need help our team is happy to walk you through it at 305-666-2992.
Is there a registration fee?
Yes there is a one-time registration fee of $65 per camper per season. This fee covers your child's FunCamps T-shirt and Tote Bag and is charged once regardless of how many sessions your child attends during the summer.
Are there discounts for multiple sessions?
Yes! We offer multi-session discounts for families who enroll in two or more sessions. The more sessions you book the more you save. Contact us or visit our Dates and Tuition page for current pricing and discount details.
