Space and Rocket Camp In Space and Rocket Camp the campers will explore the wonders of the universe through our carefully designed program. With 30 years day camp experience and over 10,000 campers, we have created an exciting camp to take us into the future. The Space and Rocket Campers will learn about the galaxy and solar system with our own portable planetarium. The campers will also learn about rocketry, gravity, aerodynamics and astronaut training. The campers will even build their own rockets and at the end of the session the staff will blast them off for them. Also, they will also receive real meteorite fragments, a working telescope, and build scaled models of the solar system. Of course, as with all our programs, the campers will have space sports, guest speakers, interactive games and swimming. This is a perfect program for our future astronauts, scientists, and/or astronomers! Now our return campers can attain different levels from Navigator & Co pilot to commander & astronaut. There is always more to do and learn in our Space and Rocket camp. Magic has been a source of amazement and wonder for centuries. "How do they do it?" has come from the mouths of children since the first magician uttered the words Hocus-Pocus and mystified his audience. MagiCamp® now offers the secrets of magic and illusion to children. Our program has been designed NOT ONLY to be an educational, healthy, and entertaining adventure through the mysterious world of magic, but also one that builds the character, confidence, and self-esteem of our Miami and South Florida campers. MagiCamp is an experience dedicated to bringing something that is rarely available today, the secrets backstage. Since 1989 MagiCamp has taught over 10,000 MagiCampers the many variations of magic, juggling, and drama. Under the direction of experienced counselors and teachers, the campers will be taught the basics of stage presence, drama, improv, animal balloons, and of course grand illusion. MagiCamp has become one of the premier specialty programs in the US with over 1200 children attending the MagiCamp programs each summer. The MagiCamp program has also been approved by the American Camping Association for its high quality standards and excellence in teaching and for providing a safe and exciting journey through the world of magic.For our retuirning campers our program design consist of different wand levels making each summer an opportunity for each Magicamper to learn more and perfect their skills of magic. About Jurassicamp Jurassicamp was created to bring our Miami and South Florida campers ages 5-10 into the wondrous world of Dinosaurs & Fossils (Paleontology). While the Jurassi-campers are learning about the many species of dinosaurs and prehistoric life, they will actually receive real fossils to keep from the periods such as dinosaur bone fragments, Trilobites, and Ammonites. These fossils will actually be found by digging in our specially designed dig boxes. The Jurassicampers will also learn from our knowledgeable Miami staff about these prehistoric creatures by building special dinosaur models which they get to keep. When they learn about volcanoes they will get the hands on experience of actually building an erupting volcano. To round out their Jurassic days the campers will participate in field activities, dinogames, field trips, swimming, and dinoart. The Jurassicampers will even get to hold and examine a real dinosaur egg, Mesasourus skeleton and dinosaur teeth. Our return campers will be able to enter into our different dino-levels from the T-Rex’s to the Spinosaurus’s, so that each session will always add something new for the Jurassicampers to experience. Through hands on experiments and projects, our campers will learn about the many facets of science. Projects will range from making electromagnets and solar powered devices, to optical and chemical, like making prisms or slime and their own glow sticks. They will even learn about the wonders of our environment and how to harness the power of gas and water.In addition to all of the fun projects we have planned, our Amazing Science Campers will receive a well rounded curriculum of field activities swimming, field trips, guest entertainers and more. This program has been designed for campers between the ages of 6-12, and is a sure bet for the budding scientist or for the curious at heart. For our return campers they will be able to reach our different scientist level from the Einstein's to the Newton's, the campers will continue to have new and exciting projects and experiments in Miami and South Florida. About Star Kidz ™ Our Camp Idol™ program: Where everybody is a star! With over 29 years of bringing exciting day camp specialty programs, Funcamps™ has done it again! Over a year in the planning stages and getting together a phenomenal qualified staff we introduced Star Kidz performing arts camp. The camp has become a huge success and one of our most popular programs. This camp is a perfect compliment to our existing programs and delves further into drama, stage techniques, music and dance. We have also included swimming, field activities, field trips guest entertainers and more to round out their fun filled days. This program has been designed for children ages 6-12 to foster their own special abilities and interest in the performing arts. Each group is age appropriate and is sure to create lifetime memories for our campers. The program is non competition oriented and every one of our campers walks away a star! Gametech Institute Camp For Ages 10-14 The newest member of the Funcamps family, The Game Tech Institute, was created not only to be an entertaining and fun adventure into video game creation, but also one that shows the educational side of video games, their development and the social interaction which is now available through the newest systems. With the help of experienced Gameologists and teachers, your children will develop skills and knowledge that will help them in their future careers! • Children use their unique imagination and creativity to create their own video games in a fun, interactive, and supportive environment! • Introduction to Game Design, animation and story development. • Campers will enjoy making new friends, and playing together with others who’s interest, age, and skill levels match theirs. • While creating their own computer games our campers will use basic computer science, which incorporates math, physics, art and fun • Each camper goes home with a completed video game that they can share with friends and family! • Campers get a chance to test and improve their skills in weekly Video Game tournaments where everybody is a winner! • Each day our Miami and South Florida campers will unplug from the tech world, and participate in many exiting activities including Each day our campers will unplug from the tech world, and participate in many exiting activities including |
